Over the course of these two days, a mountain guide specialising in trail running will lead you through stunning scenery surrounded by world-famous peaks and glaciers.
Equipped with specialist trail running gear (lightweight rucksack, poles, trail running shoes, etc.), we explore the various trails as a group whilst discussing specific techniques related to the sport and the terrain. A range of the most popular topics will help you improve your approach to trail running and overcome any apprehensions you may have about upcoming races.
From nutrition and equipment to sleep management and pacing, every topic sparks engaging discussions that lead to progress.
The aim of these two days of immersion in the mountains is to acclimatise your body to the specific demands of ascents and descents in a technical environment and to build your experience in managing changes in pace and temperature associated with the environment.
Of course, we take every opportunity to admire the valley’s unique landscape, whilst ensuring we do not disturb the wildlife as we pass through nature reserves where chamois, ibex and marmots have made their home. The distance and elevation gain, combined with the specific mountain environment – dry air, low humidity, significant temperature fluctuations and altitude – mean the body has to adapt.
These two days of trail running are therefore the perfect way to get up to speed, as well as providing excellent preparation for your future mountain adventures. Depending on the weather, the runners’ ability and their expectations, the route may change from day to day.
